Tmall’s the big league of online shopping in China—and when Havaianas wanted to make their mark, we had to ensure every flip-flop-loving soul knew exactly where they were.
Havaianas had big shoes to fill. With Tmall’s massive reach, it wasn’t just about sprucing up the store—it was about making the Havaianas brand pop with personality while speaking the language of China’s savvy shoppers. From the get-go, we knew it was essential to translate Havaianas’ vibrant soul into a design that felt as fresh and fun as the product itself. The old design wasn’t cutting it, and it was time for a brand refresh that left no doubts: this was Havaianas, and it was time to shop.
Guiding the team as the creative director, we got our hands dirty with a deep discovery phase—UX and UI audits that peeled back the layers of what worked (and didn’t) in the user experience. Then, we rolled up our sleeves to build a design system that had all the Havaianas flair, without skimping on a seamless shopping experience. The new site wasn’t just easier to browse—it invited users to dive into a playful, user-friendly adventure through their perfect pair of flip-flops. No more wandering in the virtual sand—users could now find their style, fast.
It wasn’t just a redesign—it was a full-on, sun-soaked, flip-flop-powered experience that gave Tmall shoppers the most fun they’ve had in a while.
